Fall in Medicine Hat: Things to Do, Places to Go & Why We Love This Season

There’s something about fall in Medicine Hat.

The mornings get a little cooler, the trees start changing, hockey is back, and suddenly your calendar starts filling up with markets, festivals, community events and all the things you swore you were going to have more time for once summer slowed down. (Turns out, fall had other plans)!

And honestly? We’re okay with that.

September, October and November are packed with things happening around Medicine Hat, so we’ve put together our Fall Events Calendar to help you keep track of some of the fun.

September, it’s one last taste of summer

There’s Art in Motion at the Esplanade, the Medicine Hat Tigers, and Cubs home openers, the Terry Fox Run, Parade of Homes, Oktoberfest festivities, Dinner in the Garden, the Redcliff Fall Festival & Chili Cook Off, and more.

By October, we’re fully committed to fall

There are markets to wander, haunted houses to brave, Folk Horror Fall Film Club, the Water Run at the Veiner Centre, the PBR Canada Cup Series, Bridal Expo, the Annual Antiques/Collectibles & Gun/Hobby Show and plenty of Halloween fun.

November, holiday season starts early

November brings the transition from pumpkins to Christmas lights, with local markets, Sunshine Trolley Tours, Kids Nights Out, Midnight Madness downtown and plenty of opportunities to start your holiday shopping locally.

And if you’re one of those people who refuses to acknowledge Christmas until December 1…we respect your boundaries. Mostly.

What About Real Estate in the Fall? 🏡

Fall can actually be a really interesting time in real estate.

For buyers, there can be less competition than during the busy spring and summer months, and touring homes in cooler weather gives you a chance to pay attention to some of the practical stuff too.

For sellers, fall has its own charm. Warm lighting, cozy textures and beautiful curb appeal can make a home feel especially inviting. And buyers who are house hunting later in the year often have a reason for doing it.

Whatever your version looks like, there’s plenty happening over the next few months.

Save our Fall Events Calendar, send it to someone who always asks “what should we do this weekend?” and keep it handy through November.

And if your fall plans happen to include buying, selling or just wondering what your home might be worth…you know who to call 😉.
